A wrecked UK-plated car has finally been removed from the side of a major motorway in Spain.
The blue vehicle had spent weeks in a ditch on the AP-7 in Murcia before finally being towed away earlier this week.
The car appeared one morning at kilometre 773 of the highway, near Pilar de la Horadada, an area popular with British expats and tourists.
The vehicle had clearly suffered a serious crash, which left it completely turned over and with visible and extensive damage.

Somehow, the driver, and anyone else who may have been in the car, were able to leave the scene without alerting emergency services.
The Guardia Civil was put in charge of trying to find the driver but was unable to locate them.
The vehicle has now been taken to a pound owned by the local authorities.
If the car is not claimed by the owner within the next few weeks, it will be destroyed.
Leaving a vehicle unattended on public roads may lead to multiple fines and even criminal charges if it creates an obstacle and causes an accident involving another road user, reports Spanishtrafficlaw.
