A British couple have issued a warning after falling prey to professional thieves in Murcia.
Sianna Mae, from Gloucestershire, revealed how she and her husband were targeted on the last day of their holiday this week.
The couple were driving to the airport when they decided to make a pit stop at the Bateria de Castillitos.
The hilltop landmark, in Cartagena, is a military battery constructed in the 1930s in a medieval castle–style, overlooking the sea.
Sianna wrote in an expat forum: ‘Very sad to say at 3pm whilst visiting this lovely landmark, someone broke into our hire car, smashing the window and took everything!
‘As we were heading to the airport this was literally everything, including meds!
‘They had taken our passports and wallet too but lucky enough we found these thrown into the road so are able to get our flight this evening… We are devastated… Please be vigilant everyone!’

The Spanish Eye has contacted Sianna for an update.
British expats commenting on the post had some advice for anyone visiting Spain this summer.
‘Guys, if you ever hire a car then please take the car hire stickers off,’ wrote one, while another said: ‘Rule, don’t leave anything in your car.’
Another said: ‘This is becoming regular place for theft from vehicles. Obviously a place for easy pickings. It needs monitoring.
‘If you must park up there, make sure it’s near other parked cars and where there’s some activity and don’t leave anything inside the car, not even a beach bag with just a towel in it. They have been known to smash a window to steal something like that.’
