A red alert has been issued in Barcelona due to severe rainfall that could see 120mm fall in the space of a few hours.
The warning comes from state weather agency Aemet and is in place until at least midnight tonight.
The red alert affects the deep interior region of Barcelona, while Barcelona city and its coastal zones are under an orange alert.

It comes as a strong storm is moving over the north east of Spain, with dozens of towns and cities on alert.
The freak July weather is also expected to bring hail stones, ‘which may be large’, according to Aemet.
Also under an orange alert for heavy rain are the coasts of Castellon, Taragona and Girona.
