Alarms were raised on the Costa del Sol on Sunday following reports of an ‘explosion’.

Brits and locals rushed to social media to say they had heard a loud bang and could see smoke billowing into the air.

Firefighters rushed to the source of the smoke to discover a mobile caravan engulfed in flames.

The 112 emergency service first received a call at around 7.30am.

Witnesses told operators that a motorhome parked in the McDonald’s parking lot near El Paraiso, Estepona, was ablaze.

Firefighter and police rushed to the scene and the Infoca service was alerted due to the vehicle’s proximity to forest areas.

Later on Sunday, firefighters said the blaze was extinguished ‘without incident nor injuries.’
