A four-year-old girl has died after falling from the fourth floor of a residential building in Fuengirola.

The horrific incident unfolded late Thursday night on Calle Valle Inclan (pictured above), in the Boquetillo neighbourhood.

Emergency services were alerted at around 11pm to reports of a child falling from a window.

Paramedics and police raced to the scene, finding the girl in critical condition.

She was rushed to Malaga’s Maternal and Child Hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

Police say early investigations point to a tragic accident, with no signs of third-party involvement.

The Policia Nacional have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fall.

This latest tragedy echoes a similar incident just months ago in Marbella, when a five-year-old boy died after plunging from an upper floor of a residential block.
