Two British men have been arrested over the alleged rape of a 19-year-old girl in Marbella.
The teen was reportedly found by friends naked and unconscious on the bathroom floor of a villa after suffering the brutal attack this week.
The suspects, aged 23 and 27, have been released but remain under investigation and must appear at a local court on the first and 15th of June.
The alleged assault happened at around 1.30am on Saturday. The alleged victim and her friends went back to the villa of a group of English tourists they had met in a nightclub.
But the afterparty went south when two men allegedly took advantage of the victim, who had consumed a large amount of alcohol, and allegedly raped her in the bathroom.
It was there that her friends found her naked and unconscious, sparking them to call the emergency services.
Several officers from the Policia Nacional were dispatched to the scene, where they arrested the first suspect, aged 23, on suspicion of rape.
The young woman was rushed to the Costa del Sol Hospital, where a forensic examination was performed.
On the same night of the alleged attack, the second suspect, aged 27, was arrested at a nightclub in Marbella.
Police sources quoted by Diario Sur said he matched the physical description given by the victim’s friends.
The suspects were dragged in front of Marbella’s Investigative Court on May 27. After giving their details, they were ordered to reappear on June 1 and 15.
The investigation continues.
