The bodies of two teenage girls have been found in a park in Andalucia.
The horror discovery was made on Saturday morning at Parque de la Concordia in the city centre of Jaen.
According to the Policia Nacional, the case is under a strict secrecy order, imposed by the investigating judge, while inquiries continue.
The 112 emergency service received a call at around 1.30am, alerting them to the presence of ‘two possibly deceased young women’ in the park.
Police officers, local police, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the scene, where the deaths were confirmed.
Sources close to the investigation told local outlet Hora Jaén that the first visual inspection of the scene found no signs of external violence, and that, at this stage, authorities do not believe third parties were involved.

The sub-delegate of the Spanish Government in Jaen, Manuel Fernandez, said that although the early indications point away from criminal involvement, the investigation remains open pending further forensic and police work.
Fernández called for ‘the utmost respect’ for the two girls and their families, adding: ‘We want to convey our deepest sorrow at an extraordinarily painful moment.’
